Problem:
Cables located in the plant present a risk for room to room fire, smoke, and gas transfer.

SRE Solution:
Cable Penetration Seals
provide protection against fire and smoke seeping through floor/wall openings.  SRE offers a library of seal design options to suit your substation needs.

Before

Sealant Degradation     No Seal Installed       Unqualified Design        Combustible Material

After

*prevents fire and smoke from seeping through floor opening

SRE Advantages:

  • Material allows for future cable pull. Designed fire protection system is then easily re-installed

  • Before and after matrix aid in proper system selection.  Also provides visual to compare completed work insuring correct installation.

  • Design drawings are assembled allowing each step of the process is able to be understood by novice installer.  Following each step in sequence insures a fire protection installation  will function in a fire/smoke event.

  • Ability for corrective maintenance to be performed 10, 20, even 30 years from now.

  • Option for systems to be installed by SRE's trained and certified installers. Or SRE supervision is provided.

  • In most cases, able to install while the unit is live

  • Ability to accomodate openings up to 6'' in diameter.

  • Three hour fire rating.
